U of Vt. campus exhibit focuses on college suicides

A club at the University of Vermont is trying to draw attention to the dangers of college suicides.

The group Active Minds sponsored a one-day exhibit Tuesday of 1,100 backpacks representing the number of college students who take their own lives each year.

The exhibit at UVM, titled Send Silence Packing, was the ninth stop in a spring tour that trucks the backpacks from campus to campus. On Thursday the exhibit is scheduled to be displayed at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.
