U. of I. logs 10 admissions incidents

In the new era of keeping clout out of admissions, University of Illinois admissions staff have logged about 10 incidents this school year of outside parties trying to insert themselves into the process, according to a list released to the Tribune.

They include a high school English teacher who sent an unsolicited recommendation letter, an employee of the University of Illinois Foundation who sought to attend a meeting between his relative and admissions staff, and a mother who "gave veiled threats"....
