Education must lead way to new economy

Despite its more than 100 institutions of higher education, Massachusetts’ education system is ill-equipped to prepare young people for the 21st century workplace. To be sure, the Bay State has some of the world’s finest institutions of higher learning. But a degree too often leaves many students without the basic requirement for success: the modern work skills to get a job.
