Michigan’s 15 public universities likely will have to keep tuition increases at or below 3.75 percent to get additional money or so-called “performance” funding in next year’s state budget.
A Republican-led legislative panel approved a conference committee report along party lines Thursday at the Michigan Capitol. It sets the stage for final votes on the plan in the House and Senate, likely next week.
