College campuses seek to lure more veterans

Sara Stocks didn’t take the traditional path to college. But the path she did take made her more prepared to tackle higher education.

The Army veteran, 27, who served 15 months in Iraq, enrolled at Texas Woman’s University in Denton after she left the military. Stocks, a child development major, said she brings a different skill set and focus than many of her fellow students.
