The Iowa House aimed to kill two birds with one stone in a debate on top-priority education legislation Tuesday evening.

The hours-long debate centered on Gov. Terry Branstad’s signature K-12 education reform package, which would increase starting salaries for teachers and create new leadership opportunities for educators, among other measures.
