    Job Summary
    Department-Specific Responsibilities

    Provides administrative assistance to the School of Business and Economics.
    Serves the School's administration, staff and faculty, and also assures the maintenance of a well-organized environment and a friendly and helpful student atmosphere within the main School office.
    Serves as an informational resource to a variety of university stakeholders, including faculty, students and members of the community.
    Serves as first point of contact to School-related inquiries.
    Provides administrative support to faculty and staff.
    Maintains SoBE general email and calendar.
    Assists with social media updates and posts.
    Organizes, manages, order supplies including textbooks.
    Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots general office equipment.
    Responsible for general filing, duplication, mail processing.
    Serves as backup to the Dean’s assistant when needed.
    Assists in the accreditation process by maintaining current files such as syllabi, faculty CVs and production of documents and reports.
    Assists students in registration for classes.
    Fields inquiries; sends information to prospects as needed.
    Proctors MOS certification exams; assists with VITA program.
    Assists in the overall operation of the center to include program execution, logistics, preparation of materials, data collection and analysis, report generation, payment of bills and contracts.
    Assists in the overall operation to include coordination of programming, scheduling and logistics; duplication and distribution of materials, payments of bills and contractors.
    Manages catering for weekend MBA programs; orders textbooks, technology and other supplemental resources; assists in recruitment efforts when needed.
    Assists in coordinating and arranging special events. Must be available to work before or after normal business hours or on weekends on occasion when needed, including at off-campus functions.
    General Responsibilities

    Evaluates office production, revises procedures, or devises new forms to improve efficiency of workflow.
    Organizes office operations and procedures, such as creation of Word and Excel files, bookkeeping, and preparation of payrolls, flow of correspondence, filing, requisition of supplies, and other office services.
    Oversees opening, sorting, and routing of incoming mail, answers correspondence and prepares outgoing mail.
    Monitors the use of office supplies and equipment; reorders items as required.
    Ensures that office procedures and policies are being maintained and communicated.
    Compiles, copies, sorts, and files records of office activities.
    May perform other duties related to maintaining an internal website and/or working with social media.
    Qualifications
    EDUCATION

    Required

    High school diploma or GED
    Preferred

    Bachelor's degree
    WORK EXPERIENCE

    Required

    2 years of relevant experience
    Preferred

    4 years of relevant experience
    Combinations of related education and experience may be considered

    This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
