  • Description:
  • The Wang Lab at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience invites applications for a postdoctoral position to investigate the neuronal mechanisms underlying learning and episodic memory. We seek highly motivated and independent individuals eager to contribute to our research, which spans circuit, cellular, and molecular levels. About Our Research: Our group has developed a unique strategy to isolate hippocampal activity that is independent of immediate sensory inputs, which may represent internal memory traces. Using this approach, we explore the circuit, cellular, and molecular mechanisms that generate memory-related dynamics and support memory encoding and consolidation. Ongoing projects leverage a robust array of advanced techniques, including: • In vivo electrophysiology • Cutting-edge dual-color two-photon imaging • Optogenetic and pharmacological manipulations • Genetic tools • Computational modeling • State-of-the-art virtual-reality paradigms for precise behavioral control As a postdoctoral researcher, you will lead ambitious, mechanism-driven projects. You will have access to world-class technology and an exceptionally collaborative environment. We provide close mentorship on experimental design, quantitative analysis, and scientific communication, supporting the development of a publication-ready body of work at the frontiers of hippocampal circuit research. Qualifications: Applicants should hold (or be nearing completion of) a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field. Prior experience in in vivo electrophysiology and/or two-photon imaging, quantitative data analysis, and computer programming is highly preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are required. Scientific Environment: The Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience is situated on the Jupiter Neuroscience Research Campus alongside UF Scripps Biomedical Research and Florida Atlantic University. This location offers a rich, interdisciplinary ecosystem conducive to discovery and collaboration. Compensation: We offer outstanding benefits and salary compensation above the NIH scales. How to Apply: Please email Dr. Yingxue Wang at [email protected] with the following: • Curriculum vitae with a list of publications • A 1–2 page statement of research experience and interests • Names and contact information of three references Informal inquiries are welcome at the same address prior to a full application.
