  • University of Illinois knows for the fact that the field trip they have planned for the weekend would not be as easy as it seems. They have grueling task of attacking the reputation of the country’s top politicians. They don’t consider that as their chief aim but what they want from this field trip is a tide of awareness among the politicians that it is high time they increased the funds and donated money where it is really needed. The University and its professors feel that it is about time that the politicians stop directing cash to their pockets and send them to the colleges.

The topic that is on everyone’s mind is where the $500 million which was promised by the state?  The fiscal year is about the end and college doors are soon going to be shut but still we see no sign of that money being transferred. Dick Simpson, the head of the U.I.C political science department says that he has not seen an outcry of this magnitude since 1970. He added saying cant anything be done to prevent this sudden drop of funds? Doesn’t the government find this overwhelming that money is going missing somewhere in the middle?

It feels as if the Government is waiting for the higher education in the state to collapse before they can take any actions. But a lack of funds will definitely cause problems for the university as they predict fewer classes, staff members, students and professors. In order to make up for the lack of funds about 1,300 students less will be given admission into the university and tuition fees of all the courses will see a hike.

The University of Illinois also faces a strict competition because of the system which was caught for giving admissions to those who were politically favored. The Government is still pointing fingers at them because they believe that behind the scenes this is still going on and that admission are given at a hiked price for those students who can afford it and have problems for attending a four year course. B. Joseph White who has been trying so hard to change the system because he knows that problems like these in specified universities can be dodged, it just needs a little push. He is sure of the fact that today American Education is by far one of the most reputed administrations across the globe and every institution has flaws in it, we just need to take them head on.

In his speeches B. Joseph White has been constantly pointing out that this process of making choices for the higher education will be tough. The face lift they are trying to bring out might upset a huge number but all these have been worked by professionals who feel that these changes are beneficial in the long run.  With that we reach to an end to this discussion only to wait for the rally over the weekend and a thought that assumes that everything will soon be alright.
