Faculty in the University of Phoenix are happy with the variety of interesting opportunities that have arisen from environmental and social challenges according to Philip Orlando, one of the faculty members of the school of business and advanced studies. He went on to explain that it is possible to educate and touch the immediate lives of people in the local communities both at the state as well as national level.

Societies can be effectively educated to rejuvenate, restore and preserve natural resources. It is highly challenging to consume resources in order to manage population explosion even as we research and put forth both moral and ethical considerations while educating communities.

Orlando is an active contributor towards the initiatives and ventures of the University of Phoenix. Resources at the local campuses are preserved through the University’s Green Initiative. He promotes education with a conscience by motivating students and faculty to follow his example. This is done by encourage a creative thought process in students. Questions are asked to them which draw them out to relate their real life experiences with social responsibility.

Students are encouraged to participate in local events such as volunteering at the recycling centre, participation in Earth Day events and serving the recycling coalition of the county. Orlando, who is now the Academic Affairs director at the Wichita campus of the university said a constant improvement is encouraged through responses and assessment which is infectious enough to ensure great results. Social responsibility clearly goes beyond the classroom.

According to Orlando, it is a positively encouraging sign that so many corporate are coming forward to contribute towards social necessities and take corporate responsibility pledge. He went on to say that there must be a continuous and increasing awareness of both professional and personal responsibility in order to bring about significant social changes through the collective consciousness of the society at large. As models of professional and personal responsibility and in our position as thought leaders, it is our duty to guide students of higher education, he said.

These actions that kindled the responsibility in students and provide them with a positive realization will definitely lead to a healthier and productive culture of an amalgam of societies and also an enhanced quality of life and enriched sense of education. The initiatives are powerful enough to change perspectives, societies, culture and global landscape. The entire mission, its objectives and goals in fact stand on the strong superstructure of the business framework in the University. University of Phoenix thus has an important and vital role to play towards environmental preservation.
