Therefore, now the school decided to do something new. To experiment further, they mixed the different grade students in the sixth grade class. It was reported that there were lesser behavioral problems reported amongst the students. This was a good sign. But there were drawbacks too. the students who have always scored well were already bored of the classes as the lessons went slower than usual. This was so that everyone in class could grasp it.
Amongst parents, this experiment has missed reactions too. some are totally for this system. They believe that children should help one and other. Also in a better company slower children tend to progress. Therefore, this is a good idea overall. But there are parents who are objecting the whole system. They are aghast with the idea and now want to some their kids to different private schools. They don’t want their children to be studying with kids who get poor grades or are average. A parent stated that they had admitted their children in this school for its teaching and learning background but now things were going haywire.
This school is facing major trouble now. Some parents feel that their children wont be affected at all even if they study with slow children. Some have benefited and hence want to continue with this system.
But is there really an education system that is perfect? Putting children of same grades together never did any good. If they were the best, the competition would worsen and there could be trouble. If not, with average students, there could be fights out of frustrations. So how does one design the perfect education system?
Educationists for decades have discussed and debated over this topic and yet, there is no definite answer to this. One can only experiment now and then. It’s like a cat and mouse game. One must wait and watch if the cat gets the mouse or the mouse escapes.
This is the state of the education system. It is like what Aldus Huxley states in his book, A Brave New world, every time we try to make this world into a utopia, it becomes more and more dystopian.
