This model illustrates the process that occurs during blood tests. The blood is usually sampled from one of the fingers. The tip of the finger is pricked by a sterile pin once the finger is disinfected. A drop of blood is placed on a glass slide, and a thin smear is done by another glass slide. The smear is dried up and painted a special color. Afterwards, the glass goes under the microscope for analysis. The final illustration is a stylized representation of blood cells as they are seen under a microscope under high magnification.
