Hyperbola
 

The model demonstrates an example of hyperbola.

N gophers eat wheat on a field. The total field area is S m2. How many wheat (y, as area) would each gopher eat? S=yN, thus y=S/N. If the number of gophers is set on the abscise axis then the graph y=S/x is a hyperbola.
