This applet illustrates the process of graphing quadratic functions. The functions are considered in the form y = a(x h) 2 + k. Enter the values for a, h, and k. The graph of the function is built through a 3step transformation of the graph y = x ^{2}. The value of a determines the thickness of the parabola and the direction of its concavity. Values of h and k determine how far and in which direction the graph is shifted horizontally and vertically. Use "Next" and "Back" buttons to browse through the various steps in creating the graph. Note that parameters a, h, and k are restricted to integer values from 0 through 6.
