  • Welcome to the Office of Academic Services Web site, a member of Berea’s Online Neighborhood (BONd). Students can find assistance for many of these transactions at the Student Service Center (First Floor Lincoln Hall). Feel free to stop by our office in 110 Lincoln Hall, call us at (859) 985-3208 between 8 a.m.–12 p.m. & 1 p.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday, write to us at CPO 2205, or e-mail our office ( [email protected] ) or send an e-mail to the appropriate individual listed on the Contact page and elsewhere throughout this Web site. The Office of Academic Services handles all details pertaining to the assignment of Freshman and Sophomore advisers, and provides general advice in the areas of: Graduate study (The office also makes available test registration materials for the PRAXIS Series, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, PCAT, VCAT, MCAT, and TOEFL.) Independent study (student-initiated courses) Team-initiated study (student-initiated courses) Independent majors Non-degree student applications This office also is responsible for: Orientation programming (including summer ROWs) Declaration of major / minor Change of adviser / major / minor Academic scholarships Scholarship Day program Course and labor overloads Convocation requirement tracking Degree audits Undergraduate Research and Creative Projects Program Term extensions Graduate School Travel and Application Fee Grant program Short Term Exchange program Placement and waiver tests In addition, the Office of Academic Services coordinates the Early Intervention Program, which provides a central location for reporting concerns about students that may affect academic performance so that assistance can be provided as early as possible. This involves working closely with College faculty, the Residential Life Collegium, labor supervisors, academic advisers, and many others on campus.
