Welcome to DWU Residential Life. DWU is a residential college and we believe that learning to live with others and participation in self-governance of a residence hall community are essential elements in the college experience.
Studies show that by living on campus, you are likely to have higher grades and you are more likely to complete your degree. Future employers look for graduates who have a developed sense of confidence, leadership and maturity.
The residence halls provide multiple opportunities for involvement and entertainment on campus. From programs for each floor to intramural teams to campus wide events sponsored by the Student Activities Board, there is never a shortage of things to do.
Each floor is staffed by a Resident Assistant, who is also a student. Most of the RAs hold at least one leadership position on campus and they will serve as excellent resources for almost anything you need. In addition to the RAs, every building is supervised by a Resident Director. Resident Directors are professional staff who live in the building and are available for more difficult questions and concerns and will serve as additional resources.
Mission
The mission of the Dakota Wesleyan University Office of Residential Life is to provide the best possible housing at a reasonable cost to the residents.
Residence halls at the university provide students with a living-learning environment which is an integral part of the total educational purpose of the university. The residence halls provide educational support services to the university by creating and maintaining a guided, group living experience for the personal, scholastic and social improvement of the individual resident.
