San Jose State University police say man groped woman; students told to lock doors

San Jose State University said that a man in his 20s groped a victim in a high-rise dormitory and was trying to open doors to get into rooms.

In a Twitter alert sent out about 5:30 a.m., SJSU said that the man was last seen about 3:30 a.m. on the third floor of the Joe West dorm at San Salvador and Tenth streets, and all students across the campus should lock their doors. Some students noted that to get inside the building, students need magnetic ID cards to use the elevator or get into the stairwells.
