Rutgers vice president leaves university to become president of James Madison University

Rutgers Senior Vice President and General Counsel Jonathan Alger is leaving the university to become president of James Madison University in Virginia, both universities announced today.
James Madison’s Board of Visitors was unanimous in its selection of Alger, 47, a Harvard Law School graduate who served on Rutgers’ senior leadership team and oversaw all legal affairs for Rutgers, according to statements issued by the schools.
