A 17-year-old Colorado State University student lost both her legs at the knee Monday after falling under a moving freight train she had been trying to hop aboard.

Police haven’t released the woman’s name but say her parents live in another state. The teen was flown to Denver Health Medical Center, where her condition wasn’t immediately available.

One of three males who were with her was briefly dragged by the train but suffered only minor injuries.
