UW System plan could raise tuition 5.5 percent

Most students at University of Wisconsin campuses would pay an additional 5.5 percent in tuition this fall, an increase of several hundred dollars per year, under a proposal released Monday.

If the Board of Regents approves the plan Thursday, it would mark the fifth straight year that base tuition has increased by that percentage at the system's 13 four-year schools.
