Flooding closes Iowa State University

Iowa State University is closed Thursday because parts of campus are under several feet of flood water. The area received three days of heavy rain this week, causing the South Skunk River and the Squaw Creek to jump their banks and invade campus, according to the Iowa State Daily.

School officials say students should still plan to move back to campus as scheduled, as all of the dorms are dry and only a handful of apartment-style rooms were damaged. But prospective students planning to visit campus....
