University of Michigan gets record number of applications for the Fall

The University of Michigan received a record number of applications from prospective freshmen for the upcoming school year, and is projecting the largest freshman class in history.

The university announced today that it had received 31,599 applications for the 2010-11 academic year, up from 29,939 the previous year, a 5 percent increase. The school projects an entering class of 6,350, up 300 over last year, an increase of almost 5 percent.
