LSU suspends star guard Spencer for academic reasons

LSU coach Trent Johnson suspended starting guard Bo Spencer on Monday, citing his failure to fulfill academic responsibilities.

"He is suspended from all basketball activity with the team," Johnson said. "It's all about his academic responsibility. It's pretty cut and dry. He just has to get it done."

Spencer, who'll be a senior next season, averaged 14.5 points, 2.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 32 minutes per game.

He was an 84 percent free throw shooter this past season and led the Tigers....
