Grant will help USD produce more, better teachers

University of South Dakota officials say a $3.9 million grant announced today will help them double the number of teaching candidates USD produces and at least triple the time they spend helping out in real classrooms.

USD graduated 104 education students last year. By 2014, they expect to graduate 200 per year.


Those students will have more real-world experience, too. All students will be placed in a full-year residency in their fourth and final year of college.
