Illinois State University seeing fewer education students

Statistics show that Illinois State University has seen a nearly 13 percent decline in the number of new teacher education students.

The Pantagraph reports Sunday that the school's College of Education had 681 new students in the summer and fall of 2008. That number fell to 594 at the same time in 2012. The biggest decline was in elementary education - more than 20 percent fewer students over the same period of time.
