    This position will manage employee(s) that perform general accounting functions for the Coastal Educational Foundation and direct accounting for endowments, capital projects, program funds and scholarship funds.

    Accounting/ Fiscal Manager III (AD32/61122004), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 09. Salary range: $83,219.00 (minimum) - $118,596.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Occasional travel required. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

    Duties
    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    Oversees employee(s) that perform accounting for endowments, capital projects, program funds and scholarship funds; including bookkeeping, expenditure monitoring, collections, vendor payments, financial statements and auditing within an agency’s financial system.

    Ensures the accurate documentation of all financial transactions and the timely payment and receipt of all monies. Approves allocations, allotment recommendations and fund transfers between banks and investment companies.

    Oversees activities of accounting team in preparation for year-end audit. Directs the development, preparation and compilation of financial data for state and federal reporting, including 990 tax returns.

    Oversees fiscal management activities, prepares financial reports; establishes accounts; prepares budget, income and expense reports. Approves agency budgetary adjustments and new personnel position requests; monitors agency patterns of expenditure.

    Recommends and assists in developing and implementing agency policies and procedures related to the areas in financial management.

    Qualifications
    Required: A Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of five (5) year’s direct professional experience in accounting, auditing or finance are required.

    Preferred: Experience with non-profit accounting, specifically Foundations, desired. Experience using Raisers Edge and Financial Edge software is a plus. A SC CPA preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficient in Excel and Word. Proficient with mathematical concepts. Ability to prepare and interpret financial reporting. Ability to work independently to complete known tasks and responsibilities. Ability to effectively communicate and coexist with colleagues, donors and vendors. Ability to plan, organize, review and supervise the work of subordinates.
