Job Summary
Auburn University and the College of Agriculture is excited to recruit candidates for a Financial Assistant! The individual in this position will serve as the central point of contact for all purchasing card and travel related business for the School of Fisheries, Aquaculture, & Aquatic Sciences.

Essential Functions
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Gathers and reviews documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy; makes proper inquiries when information is not present.
Uploads documentation to banner for Swingle Hall, E. W. Shell Fisheries Center, and CASIC faculty, staff, and students in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
Identifies M&E purchases on grants and consults with accountant.
Fields, researches, and resolves questions.
Manages purchasing cards: applications, maintenance forms, and collects purchasing cards for terminating employees; assembles monthly audit package of original documentation.
Researches PBS and CGA Inquiries, prepares journal vouchers to move items accordingly.
Creates, schedules, and implements purchasing card training.
Works with purchasing card team to coordinate workload with outlying areas; resolves outstanding issues.
Tracks number of purchasing card transactions and error rates.
Serves as point of contact for Travel Vouchers for faculty/students; answers and researches questions as needed.
Assists in preparing travel vouchers as needed.
Researches and resolves PBS/CGA inquiries.
Prepares journal vouchers as needed.
Processes incoming checks and reimbursements as needed.
A/P for Recharge Centers.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Level I: High school diploma or equivalent; no experience required.
Level II: High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of experience in financial support services.
Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills and have demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Technology Skills
Basic knowledge of standard office equipment and procedures.

Desired qualifications include the following:
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Familiarity with Auburn University administrative and financial policies, procedures and the AU Banner system.
