    The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at St. Cloud State University invites applications for a fixed-term (non-probationary) position in Statistics for the 2024-2025 academic year. The successful candidate will join a department committed to excellence in teaching and dedicated to preparing the next generation of statisticians, data scientists, and mathematicians. The department has undergraduate programs in Mathematics and Statistics, including concentrations in Mathematical Statistics, Data Science, and Data Analytics.     Job Description
    The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to to teach a mix of introductory statistics courses as needed, be involved in the development of curricular materials, serve on department committees, be professionally active, and perform other duties as assigned. Course delivery may include face-to-face, online, hybrid, and hyflex approaches.

    The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a professional goal to become an outstanding teacher-scholar through the use of research-based, best-practices pedagogy. They will regularly engage in ongoing professional development opportunities focused on pedagogical growth.

    Instruct courses in varied locations and at varied times, in-person, online or hybrid and in either a semester or accelerated semester schedule.
    Required Qualifications
    Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related area
    Demonstrated potential to be an effective instructor utilizing best-teaching practices
    Evidence of excellent communication skills
    Demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
    Preferred Qualifications
    Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, or closely related area
    Statistical consulting experience
    Experience engaging students in experiential learning through real-world projects
    Experience with teaching and assessment of online courses
