The School of Social Work offers two graduate degree programs (MSW and Ph.D).
The Master of Social Work (MSW) degree prepares graduates for advanced social work practice. The MSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
The School of Social Work also offers the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Social Work. The doctoral program is a member of GADE, the Group for the Advancement of Doctoral Education in Social Work.

Master's of Social Work (MSW) Admissions Process and Materials
The application deadline is February 1 for the Two-Year Program in Flint and East Lansing and the Advanced Standing Program in East Lansing, January 10 for the Statewide Blended. However, early submission of applications is encouraged since review for admissions will begin in mid-December.
Ph.D in Social Work Admissions Process and Materials
Applications due January 10.

Financial Aid applications and decisions are made by the Office of Financial Aid. Apply for Graduate Assistantships at MSU through Residential Life or Student Affairs and Services.
A limited number of Graduate Assistantships and scholarships are available through the School of Social Work. Decisions regarding these are made after the admissions process is complete in the Spring.
