Application Process
How to apply for admission to Macquarie University depends on the course in which you are interested. Please select from the following options:
- Undergraduate coursework degree - for international students who would like to complete a coursework degree at an Undergraduate level (including Bachelor or Graduate Certificate degrees) at Macquarie
- Postgraduate coursework degree - for international students who would like to complete a coursework degree at a Postgraduate level (including Master, Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma degrees) at Macquarie
- Research degree - for international students who would like to complete a research degree (such as PhD, Doctorate or Masters by Research)
Study abroad - for international students who would like to study for one or two semesters at Macquarie
- MQ students going abroad - for Macquarie students who would like to study overseas for one or two semesters
- English at Macquarie - English language courses, run by the on-campus Centre for Macquarie English (CME), for international students
- Pathway programs - for Foundation, Diploma and pathway programs, offered by the on-campus Sydney Institute of Business and Technology (SIBT)
Tuition and Fees :
Macquarie offers Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) for which the Australian Government makes a financial contribution towards the costs of a program of study.
If you are enrolled in a unit of study as a Commonwealth supported student, you will generally be required to contribute to the cost of your education through a student contribution. Macquarie sets the student contribution amount you are required to pay. The amount depends on your course of study.
Tuition Fees for International Students
The tuition fees for international students at Macquarie University are set on a per credit point basis, and are revised each year. This means that there is a fee for each credit point in which you are enrolled. To help you calculate your fees, Macquarie University provides you with an estimated annual fee for your course, based on you enrolling in all the required units for that course in your first year. This estimated annual fee is published both in Macquarie's brochures (for undergraduate students and for postgraduate students) and also in our online course database.

The tuition fees for international students are revised on an annual basis, and they will generally rise each year about 6%.
