To be considered for admission to West Point all applicants must obtain a nomination from an approved source (Congress, the President, Vice President, or Department of the Army). Also, applicants must be at least 17 but not yet 23 years of age by July 1 of year of entry. They must also be an unmarried U.S. citizen (foreign nationals with approval) in good health, with no parental obligations or responsibilities.
